Sindh governor orders issuance of arms licenses to businessmen

KARACHI: Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan ordered the I.G Sindh and CCPO Karachi to immediately provide issuance of arms licenses to the business community, following a demand by the stakeholders. He also ordered that the police be provided with mobile phone locators in the shortest possible time.

He ordered the home secretary to issue arms licenses to members of the business community in order to combat criminals and the extortion mafia.

In other measures to control the worsening law and order situation in Karachi, Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan has also instructed the officials concerned to depute additional police force of 500 personnel in old city and industrial areas to combat criminals.

Following a marathon meeting with business leaders, the governor also ordered the establishment of community policing in all commercial and industrial areas with the collaboration of CPLC.
