TAXILA, Oct 19: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Friday addressed a public meeting in the downtown area and announced development packages worth millions.

Local analysts opine that by holding rallies and announcing development schemes, Chaudhry Nisar has preemptively triggered the electioneering process.

Some of the projects include construction of a by-pass to decrease the traffic load on Taxila- Hattar route, construction of modern sewerage system and establishment of a park as no single public park is available for the masses for recreation.

Using the opportunity he also criticised the government for its weekly revision of petroleum prices and said that the government ridiculed the parliamentary resolution by increasing petroleum prices a day after it was passed.

Chaudhry Nisar criticised Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI).

“The ones who talk about bringing a revolution – they won’t bring any revolution, they can only bring agony, he said.

“He (PTI chairman Imran Khan) comes on stages with his rote-learned speeches and starts accusing us,” Chaudhry Nisar added.
