LARKANA, Jan 2: The leader of opposition in Sindh Assembly, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, has said that the delay in the formation of the Sindh cabinet indicates weakness of the coalition partners of the provincial government.

Commenting on the formation of the Sindh cabinet, Mr Khuhro said that the delay had hinted at fragile and feeble nature of the Sindh government.

He said that the defectors were rewarded with ministries for changing their loyalties.

Talking to this correspondence, the People’s Party Parliamentarians’ leader said that by inducting turncoats in the cabinet, the government was promoting the culture of lotacracy, which was against the essence of democracy.

When asked whether the government had invited the PPP MPAs to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the Sindh ministers, he said that he had no information about it.

ASI KILLED: An assistant sub-inspector of police, Abdul Hafeez Bhutto, working in the Anti-Corruption Establishment, Larkana, died on the spot when his motorcycle slipped on an overhead bridge while he was trying to make a sharp turn near the railway station late Thursday night.

Another man, Abdullah Solangi, who was with him was injured and admitted to the Chandka Medical College Teaching Hospital.

INQUIRY DEMANDED: Naib District Nazim Nazeer Ahmad Bughio has said an impartial inquiry should be initiated into the alleged misappropriation of funds of the School Management Committees (SMCs).

He was talking to Dawn here on Thursday.

When contacted, the chairman of the education sub-committee of the district council, Amir Bakhsh Gaad, said the Larkana district had received Rs70 million in the head of SMCs.

He said the fund was handed over to the elementary wing of the education department for distribution among schools for repair and other requirements.

He said it was later found that the fund had been siphoned off.

Gaad said despite repeated calls, the EDO, education, did not submit details regarding utilization of the fund.

Karani union council Nazim Ghulamullah Bughio told this correspondent that eight primary teachers were transferred from his union council when they refused to accept what he called illegal orders of the education department about the fund.
