PESHAWAR, Jan 2: A one-day national workshop on environmental impact of eucalyptus plantations has been organized by the Research and Develop-ment Directorate of NWFP Forest Department at the Pakistan Forest Institute, here on Saturday.

Participants from various walks of life, including scientists, professionals, farmers, bureaucrats, NGO representatives from NWFP, Punjab and Sindh are taking part in the event. Ten scientists will present papers on various aspects of eucalyptus. Besides, farmers will share their experiences.

Objective of the workshop is to clear controversy about adverse environmental impacts of eucalyptus plantations.
