KARACHI, Jan 2: The Pakistan People’s Party said on Thursday that President Pervez Musharraf had “no right to interfere in the formation of government” in Sindh.

“The way he monitored the distribution of portfolios of various ministries during his recent visit to Karachi strengthened the apprehension that the establishment exerted its control over Sindh affairs,” PPP MNA Nawab Yousuf Talpur, MPAs Rashid Hussain Rabbani, Manzoor Hussain Wassan and Jamil Soomro said on Thursday.

Terming the approval of the Sindh cabinet by the President a “serious hoax” with the constitution, the federation and provincial autonomy, the PPP office-bearers said a former prime minister was dismissed by the Gen Musharraf for allegedly meddling into provincial affairs.

They asked the Sindh chief minister and the governor to announce an immediate relief package for the citizens.—PPI
