PESHAWAR, Oct 17: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour has said terrorism was fast spreading which needed to be controlled through a combined strategy involving international stakeholders, especially Russia, China, United States and the United Kingdom.

He said that all the stakeholders and frontline states should play their positive role for attainment of the objective of peace in this region as peace was need of all the nations for development and peaceful life.

While speaking at the ‘guest hour’ programme of the Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday, the Awami National Party leader said peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan and Fata was vital for bringing durable calm and stability in the entire region.

He expressed optimism about the improving security situation in most volatile parts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding ANP had adopted accurate strategy to wipe out extremism and insurgency from the province. However, he said there still was need to take more effective steps for complete elimination of the terrorists’ network.

Mr Bilour said ANP government had clear stance on militants, adding the government would continue fight till elimination of last terrorist.

Referring to the attack on Malala Yousafzai, the minister said the act was a bid to silence voice of peace and promotion of education, adding the government would not let anyone to do so.

The government, he said had taken practical steps for development of the province, especially the underprivileged districts.
