Demolition of illegal structures starts in KP

MANSEHRA/ LAKKI MARWAT, Oct 16: The Mansehra district administration continued to demolish houses and markets illegally built on the Evacuee Trust land in Balakot and Oghi tehsils for the second day on Tuesday.

The demolition of these illegal structures was ordered by district coordination officer Dr Amber Ali Khan in line with the orders of the Peshawar High Court chief justice.

A team of the revenue department and tehsil municipal administration led by magistrate Salam Deen and district deputy officer (revenue) Khalid Zaman took part in the operation in Garlat area of Balakot and destroyed three houses and two cattle pens built in a graveyard.

Seven houses were demolished in Balakot by a team of the revenue department and tehsil municipal administration last month.

In Oghi, two markets and a house were demolished in Shergar and Galli Badral areas for being illegal.

The house of Badri Zaman was demolished in Shergar area and two markets owned by Haider Zaman and Mohammad Riaz were razed in Galli Badral area.

In Lakki Marwat, the tehsil municipal administration and revenue department along with police removed illegal structures from Faqeeran graveyard in Lakki Marwat city.

In Karak, too, the district administration began operation against people, who had grabbed land in Takht-i-Nusrati graveyard. It demolished three houses and several shops.
