Terror bid foiled

TAXILA, Oct 15: Taxila police on Monday averted a potential terrorist attack, when they intercepted a car full of explosives.

Sub divisional Police officer (SDPO) and DSP Raja Taifour Akhter said that a police party led by inspector Malik Mohammad Khan intercepted a car on Taxila-Haripur road and during search recovered 25 kilogram of explosives, 400 detonators and 800 metres of fuse safety wire.

While in another move, the DSP said that police foiled a bid to smuggle huge quantity of liquor from Rawalpindi to Haripur and arrested one liquor smuggler.

He said that acting on a tip off, a police party   intercepted a car and during search recovered over 1200 bottles of liquor.

He said that during preliminary interrogation, the accused confessed to the smuggling of liquor.

He was planning to sell it a night before Eid and make a huge profit.
