MANSEHRA, Oct 15: The district government has provided 15 sewing machines to the district jail to provide training to men and women inmates.
ACO Ali Shahzad gave the machines to Zafar Iqbal, superintendent of jail. Former district councillor Syeda Gulnaz Shah was also present. Mr Shahzad told reporters DCO Dr Amber Ali Khan was taking keen interest in addressing the problems of jail inmates. He said two small training centres for men and women inmates would be run initially to provide training to them. Meanwhile, the government has also restored the public call office facility inside the jail after its suspension for two years.
“The PCOs which were closed because of terrorism have been restored inside the jail to help inmates talk to their families and lawyers about their cases,” said Mr Iqbal.—Correspondent
