KARACHI, Oct 15: A sessions court on Monday handed over a copy of a complaint to a former member of the provincial assembly belonging to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and fixed Nov 3 to indict her in a dual nationality case.

Nadia Gabol, who was among the 11 members of parliament and provincial assemblies disqualified by the apex court for holding dual nationality, appeared before the district and sessions judge (south), Hasan Froze, on Monday and furnished surety in order to authenticate her bail.

The court also supplied a copy of the complaint filed by the Election Commission of Pakistan under Section 265-C (supply of statements and documents to accused) of the criminal procedure code to the disqualified member provincial assembly and fixed Nov 3 for her indictment.

She along with other disqualified members was accused of filing false declarations along with their nomination papers for elections to conceal their dual nationality.

On Oct 2, the court summoned her along with Rehman Malik and Farahnaz Ispahani of the Pakistan People’s Party for appearance in court and directed them to furnish surety of Rs50,000 each and personal bond in the same amount.

On Sept 20, the Supreme Court disqualified 11 members of parliament and provincial assemblies for holding dual nationalities.
