Police attitude annoys DPSC

SUKKUR, Jan 1: Members of the District Public Safety Commission (DPSC) on Wednesday expressed their displeasure over the attitude of officials of the C-Section police station and decided to inform higher authorities in this regard.

This was decided in a meeting the District Public Safety Commission, Sukkur, which was chaired by Rukunuddin Qasmi.

It was also decided to hold a series of meetings with the district Nazim, the district police officer and other administrative officers to avoid any misgiving.

A member of the DPSC, Khurshid Durrani, called for holding open Katchehries at the taluka level to solve the grievances of the poor people.

The meeting decided to send a letter to the additional chief secretary for provision of budget for the commission.

RECRUITMENT: The Pakistan Navy has announced that the registration for the recruitment of cadets was under way and would continue till Jan 24.

All unmarried male citizens of Pakistan, aged between sixteen-and-a-half years and 21 years (civilians) and between 17 and 23 years for service candidates, having a minimum height of 162.5 cms (5ft. 4in.) and possessing the qualifications of HSC, science (pre-engineering A-level / diploma of associate engineer (with mathematics, physics and chemistry) are eligible to apply.

Eligible candidates have been advised to submit their documents, including matriculation/F.Sc. marksheets/certificates, NIC or Form-B, three copies of photographs and postal order for Rs100.

According to the announcement, an examination will be held on Jan 26 at 8am at the Government High School, Sukkur.

TEACHERS TRAINING: The executive district officer (education), Prof Rafia Naz Pathan, has announced a four-week-long in-service training programme for junior school teachers and headmasters of middle schools.

The training programme will be held under the middle school project in subjects, including English, science, social studies, skill development, mathematics, Sindhi and Urdu.

A competition of male/female teachers, intending to participate in the training programme in the above categories, will be conducted at 10am on Jan 12 at the Government Boys’ High School No1, Sukkur.

The selected teachers will be paid Rs450 per day during the training programme, the announcement added.

PTC RESULTS: The results of the Primary Teaching Certificate (PTC) and Certificate of Teaching (CT) (annual examination 2002), will be announced on Jan 2 at 1pm, an announcement by the controller of the Board of Education stated.
