PML-N to oppose accountability bill in NA: Shahbaz

OKARA: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will oppose accountability bill in the National Assembly as it is aimed at protecting the thieves.

Speaking to media representatives after offering condolence to MPA Mian Yawar Zaman on demise of his mother, he said, “Ali Baba and 40 thieves have joined hands.”

Commenting on government’s decision of writing letter to Swiss authorities for reopening graft cases against President Asif Ali Zardari, Sharif questioned why the rulers deceived masses for four and half year and committed contempt of court if they had to write the letter anyway.

Earlier, the Pakistan People’s Party had tabled a resolution in Punjab Assembly against Shahbaz Sharif and Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah for using indiscreet language against Governor Sardar Latif Khosa.
