KARACHI, Jan 1: Expressing concern over an increase in the petroleum prices by the Oil Companies Advisory Committee (OCAC), the Karachi Transport Ittehad (KTI) termed it “New Year present” for citizens by the democratic government and warned of observing strike for an indefinite period.

The prices had been increased despite a promise by the Prime Minister, Mir Zafarullah Jamali, to lower these, the KTI leaders, Syed Irshad Hussain Bukhari, Malik Khalid Hussain Awan, Pir Burhannudin and others, said in a statement on Wednesday.—PPI
