LAKKI MARWAT, Oct 9: The local administration has imposed ban on transportation of cattle to other parts and tribal areas from the district.
“The ban was imposed in the light of reports that cattle and meat was being smuggled to tribal areas and onward to Afghanistan which could cause shortage of animals in the district,” said an official source.
He told that the local police authorities had also proposed to the district administration to ban the transportation of cattle from Lakki district to avert any possible price hike and shortage of animals.
Meanwhile, Al-Khidmat foundation in its meeting held here on Tuesday decided that the humanitarian organisation affiliated with Jamaat-i-Islami would slaughter animals and distribute meat among poor on Eidul Azha. The foundation’s district chapter president Abdul Ghaffar Faryadi chaired the meeting.The meeting decided that the foundation would set up a camp at Kargil chowk in Lakki city to collect hides of sacrificial animals during Eid days.
Meanwhile, PML-N provincial vice-president Akhtar Munir Khan Marwat has said that his party would steer the country out of crisis if voted to power in the forthcoming general elections.
He was speaking at a meeting of elders and workers in Zangikhel village here on Tuesday. He said that the rulers were responsible for the mess faced by people, adding that the profitable institutions of the country had been brought on the verge of destruction due to wrong polices. —Correspondent
