LAHORE, Oct 8: The district coordination officer on Monday got arrested a Wapda SDO and ordered registration of criminal cases against an executive engineer and a warehouse in-charge for making inadequate cleanliness arrangements within official premises, causing spread of mosquito there.

The instructions were passed by the DCO during his visit to a grid station in Wapda Colony, Shalimar Town.

He got SDO Rana Waseem arrested on the spot and ordered registration of a case against Executive Engineer Salim Shamshair after he found dengue larva there.

He also visited a Wapda-owned warehouse on Sultan Road and ordered an FIR against store/warehouse in-charge Rao Qamar Wajad.

APPROVAL: The City District Government of Lahore on Monday approved a proposal seeking promotion in grade-16 to 43 teachers working in various schools being run under its administrative and functional control.

At a meeting of the district promotion committee, the DCO said the promotion cases had been lying pending for long.
