TRAFFIC in major cities has become a public issue and needs to be addressed. It is agonising when we stop at the signal and twinge that it won’t go green. After a long interval, we realise that we have been standing in honour of a person we elected to work for us.
Respect? No, sir. To provide this context with some evidence, I would suggest we go through countries like China, Japan, Turkey, Switzerland and many more.
These nations respect their people’s role in development and do not exploit their hard work.
They may walk freely. Never throw a snag to the ones going to hospital or to school. Unfortunately, here people die while holding on to their protocol.
It is indeed very unethical and at the same time thought-provoking. It is a shame that we call ourselves human beings.
No other country has ever allowed such a conduct, no matter how important the person is. Then why does a developing country like Pakistan support the idea?
It is precisely so because we have allowed a bunch of people to exploit the common man’s right. These are the ones who are scared to move about freely and need a security force preceding them.
This is an issue that needs to be debated and resolved in favour of the people. The media can be a great help in this regard.
