Ansar on song as Army down Baloch FC 2-0

KARACHI: Ansar Abbas continued his scoring run as his brace gave Pakistan Army a 2-0 victory over Baloch FC in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) on Monday.

Elsewhere, Habib Bank Limited (HBL) chalked up only their second victory of the season when they beat PMC Athletico 1-0 while Wapda drew 1-1 with Karachi Port Trust (KPT).

After scoring in Army’s 1-0 win over Navy in ther last match, Ansar scored in each half against Baloch FC at the Army Stadium in Rawalpindi to help his side move to 18 points from 10 matches.

At the PMC Football Stadium in Faisalabad, Zakir Lashari’s 88th minute strike handed HBL a vital victory and propelled them to 12 points from 12 games.

Wapda took the lead through Ahmed’s 20th minute goal at Lahore’s Railways Football Stadium but Mohammad bin Younus struck 13 minutes later to give KPT a share of the points.

Tuesday’s fixtures: ZTBL v Afghan FC (Jinnah Stadium, Islamabad), PAF v Navy (PAF Complex Ground, Peshawar); Wohaib FC v KESC (UMT Football Ground, Lahore); KRL v NBP (Railway Football Stadium, Lahore).—Sports Reporter
