KANDAHAR: Police said a car bomb blast killed at least two people, both Afghan intelligence officers, in Lashkar Gah, capital of the southern Helmand province.

Police spokesman Fareed Ahmed said the explosives had been hidden in a vehicle parked outside an office of the National Directorate of Security in the provincial capital.

Ahmed said the bomb went off on Monday afternoon, wounding another three intelligence officers and four civilians.

He said that he could confirm at least two deaths and that he was still waiting for information about whether there were more deaths.
