KARACHI: Hashim Raza was appointed as a new commissioner of the port city of Karachi on Sunday replacing Roshan Ali Shaikh, DawnNews reported.

Former commissioner resigned from his post today due to unknown reasons.

The newly appointed commissioner, Raza, is a senior bureaucrat and former health secretary.

Raza took charge of his responsibilities today.
