LAHORE, Oct 6: Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Chairman Nasrullah Virk on Saturday paid a surprise visit to the cluster examination centre on Lawrence Road and caught a candidate red-handed using unfair means in English paper of matriculation supplementary examination.

The chairman also removed invigilator Shahnawaz of the Government Elementary School, Groor Muslim, allegedly for helping Faisal Saleh Hayat (roll number 26182) for using unfair means.

The chairman has also written a letter to the Punjab School Education Department secretary for initiating a departmental action against the invigilator under PEEDA. An FIR was also lodged against the candidate and he was handed over to the police.

The chairman also removed deputy superintendent Zafarullah Khan, EST, Government Model High School, Shahalam Gate, from his examination duties for using a mobile phone in the examination hall. The Punjab government has already banned the use of mobile phones during examinations.
