Pakistan to compete in Asian Sevens Rugby

LAHORE: Pakistan National 7s Rugby team leaves on Thursday for Mumbai to participate in HSBC Asian Sevens series.

The tournament will take place in Mumbai on Oct 13 and 14. The Mumbai Sevens has attracted 16 teams including Afghanistan which will mark its first appearance in the event.

Pakistan are in Group C with Taiwan, Korea, Kazakhstan while Group A comprises Japan, Philippines, Singapore and Afghanistan.

Group B includes China, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Iran while Group D consists of Hong Kong, Thailand, UAE and India.

Pakistan rugby team’s camp continues at the DHA rugby stadium here where coach Shakeel Ahmad and Haji Anwar are imparting training.—Sports Reporter
