Govt in talks with Brahamdagh, Mir Suleman, says parliamentary secretary

ISLAMABAD: Parliamentary Secretary Khurram Jahangir Watto said that a parliamentary committee was in the process of negotiations with the Baloch leadership including Brahamdagh Bugti and Mir Suleman Daud, DawnNews reported.

A session of National Assembly was held in Islamabad which was presided over by Deputy Speaker Faisal Kareem Kundi.

The MNA of Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) Tehmina Daultana criticised that Chief Miister Balochistan was not serious about the issue, Adding that she said that although Frontier Corps (FC) was in his control but most of the time he is not present in his province

While responding to the criticism of Doltana, Watto said that a committee, headed by Rehman Malik, was in contact with the Baloch leaders and negotiations were going on between government and the Baloch leadership including Brahamdagh Bugti and Mir Suleman Daud.

He said that the FC  was in control of the chief minister of Balochistan but the CM was not performing his duties up to the mark.

The parliamentary secretary said that 42 points out of 61 of “Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan package” (package to initiate Balochistan's rights) have already been implemented.

The session of the National Assembly was subsequently adjourned until Monday evening till 5 pm.
