PESHAWAR, Oct 3: The Fata chapter of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) has accused the government of creating hurdles for it in holding a peace march.

“Any step aimed at hindering the peace march of the party towards Waziristan will have dire consequences,” Nazar Nawaz, the organiser of PTI for tribal areas, told a press conference here on Wednesday.

He said that it was duty of the administration to provide full security to the participants of peace march because it was in the best interests of the country.

Flanked by PTI members from frontier regions of Peshawar and Kohat including Ahmad Khan and Dr Afsar Khan, he said that tribal elders had assured them of extending full support during the march to make the event a success and raise a joint voice against the drone attacks.

Mr Nawaz said that tribesmen would fully support the peace march, to be held under leadership of PTI chairman Imran Khan on October 6. He said that all arrangements were finalised to hold the march in a befitting manner and raise voice against the injustices meted out to tribal people.

He said that a large number of tribal elders, PTI workers and people from different walks of life would participate in the proposed peace march.

The PTI leader said that residents of frontier regions would participate in the peace march to express solidarity with the rest of tribesmen and condemn the killing of innocent people in military operations and drone attacks.
