Masroor misses century

KARACHI, Dec 30: Diminutive Mohammad Masroor failed by 10 runs to hit a century as the Quaid Trophy Group-II game between Karachi Whites and Pak PWD ended in the most boring of draws at National Stadium on Monday.

The home side preferred to bat all day on the final day of the four-day fixture, to reach 459 for seven when the umpires decided that enough was enough.

Resuming at 142 for two, Karachi Whites, who conceded a 41-run lead on the first innings, added another 317 runs with for batsmen crossing the 50-run mark.

Masroor scored 90, Wasim Naeem 82, wicket-keeper Amin-ur-Rehman 63 and Fahadullah 61.
