Case against Irrigation SDO, others

TOBA TEK SINGH, Dec 30: The Anti-Corruption Establishment on Sunday registered a case against an Irrigation Department sub-divisional officer, three sub-engineers and other employees on the charge of stealing timber.

In his complaint, Barkat Ali of Kamalia had alleged that SDO Arshad Mahmood Ansari, sub-engineers Mohammad Arshad Baloch, Mohammad Saleem and Mohammad Akram and others had cut trees from Mauza Jakhar Canal Colony and sold them out.

During investigation conducted by a Faisalabad ACE officer, these employees were found guilty and the higher authorities ordered registration of a case against them.

The case was registered under Section 409PPC and 5/2/47 of the Anti-Corruption Act.

THEFT: Thieves took away cash, prize bonds, gold ornaments, a TV set and valuables from the house of a jeweller in Sharifabad Colony on Saturday night.

Bashir along with the family had gone to Lahore to attend a marriage when the thieves took away cash and valuables.

Two killed: Two people were killed and five others injured in two road accidents here on Monday.

ARRESTED: Chuttiana police claim having arrested four alleged dacoits who had looted a trader on Toba-Shorkot Cantonment road some two months ago.

Dacoits had looted Rs82,500 in cash from Javed when he was going to purchase cotton.
