Govt serious about missing persons' recovery: Rehman Malik

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Sunday that there was no ongoing military operation in Balochistan and that the government was serious about recovery of missing persons, DawnNews reported.

While addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the federal interior minister added that the six points presented by the chief of the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M), Sardar Akhtar Mengal were not comparable with the six points of Sheikh Mujib-ur-Rehman.

Malik further said that the Frontier Corps (FC) were deployed in the province  even during Mengal's tenure as chief minister of Balochistan and that the state institutions should not be defamed.

According to Rehman Malik, Sardar Mengal's talks with political personalities was significant though the blame game should not be played.

The interior minister added that the government was serious on the issue of recovering the missing persons and that all valid grievances of the former chief minister of Balochistan, Sardar Akhtar would be addressed.
