FAISALABAD, Sept 29: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad has decided to set up four new campuses in remote areas so that people there could be provided modern education in the field.
Addressing the young faculty members at the varsity’s new senate hall on Saturday, Vice Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad said new campuses would be set up at Chishtian, Burewala, Layyah and Mandi Bahauddin.
However, the VC did not give any schedule for instituting these new campuses.
He said with these campuses higher education opportunity would be available at the doorstep of those living in underdeveloped areas.
Besides, he said, the UAF management would initiate virtual learning and interaction programmes in collaboration with other varsities in the country and abroad.
Talking about other UAF projects, he said new working women hostel would be opened next month on the varsity campus for the female employees. The VC described the new degree course of engineering a landmark development, adding such programmes would open new windows of opportunities for the graduates.
Senior Tutor Dr Aslam Pervez and Registrar Mohammad Husain also highlighted the educational and research activities of the varsity.
