RECENTLY, on my return from university, I encountered a minister’s car which seemed to be running in a hurry. I twice gave it way but every time it seemed to have stuck somewhere.

The guards in the escort in front were rather very eager to move all other cars away and were not allowing them to come any closer.

This time the car was again stuck at the signal while the escort moved ahead of it. Ideally, the distance between the protocol cars should be such that no car can penetrate them. But this time after the minister’s car was stuck behind there were 13 to 15 cars and that too on a single lane bridge. This certainly allowed my car to inevitably come between the minister’s car and his escort. I tried my best to give way to the minister’s car but could not do so and had to face the consequences. The guard sitting behind in the escort started abusing as if I alone in my car was there to kill all of them.

Who gave these guards the right to mistreat a medical student? Do common people not have a right to live? Why hasn’t the common man’s cry in this country had an effect on anyone around? Are we, the educated ones, not fit for this society? Or is it the other way around?
