LAHORE, Sept 24: The Lahore Parking Company on Monday entered into an agreement with the City District Government of Lahore for constructing four state-of-the-art automated parking plazas initially at four prime and busy localities of the provincial metropolis.

District Coordination Officer/ CDGL Administrator Noorul Amin Mengal and LPC Chairman Hafiz Muhammad Nauman signed the agreement on behalf of their organisations.

Under the agreement, the LPC would be responsible for constructing automated parking plazas at Allama Iqbal Town’s Moon Market, Liberty Market and Hafeez Centre in Gulberg and Barkat Market in Garden Town.

He said the LPC would give 75 per cent of its profit share to the CDGL against utilisation of its resources.

Speaking on the occasion, Mengal said a Turkish firm would technically facilitate the LPC in getting these parking lots constructed according to international standards.

Hafiz Nauman directed the LPC administration to immediately start work in collaboration with Turkish experts.

DENGUE: The DCO on Monday asked the officials to mark Tuesday (today) as anti-dengue day by involving all private schools and colleges and other stakeholders of the city.

“We will not tolerate any negligence if shown by any official in this regard and such negligent officers will be shown the door,” he said while presiding over a meeting.

He said as many as 100 teams had been constituted to pay surprise visits to private institutions to check anti-dengue campaign/activities on the day.

He also sought cooperation of private schools and college owners. He warned they would face the music if they did not cooperate in this regard.

SCHOOLS: Gulberg Town Administrator Amina Munir on Monday directed the officials concerned to get dengue-clearance certificates from all private school owners working within the town’s jurisdiction.

In a meeting, she said the schools whose owners wouldn’t submit certificates to the town administration would be sealed.

FIRs: Various price control magistrates on Monday got registered FIRs against 10 shopkeepers for overcharging and hoarding.

They inspected 265 shops/stores and imposed a fine of Rs34,100 on 55 shopkeepers.
