HYDERABAD, Dec 29: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, on Saturday issued notices to the district police officer (DPO), DSP Dadu, and SHO Rajo Dero police station over a constitutional petition.
The three petitioners — Shahmir Bhurt, Pathan, and Naimatullah — said that on Dec 14, feudal lord Zahid Jatoi, feudal lord Aner Jatoi, DSP (Dadu) Tipu Sultan, Gul Mohammad Shar, SHO (Rajo Dero) Mazhar Butt with ASI Nabi Bux Solangi, SHO (Thariri Mohabbat) Abu Bakar Chandio, and half a dozen unknown people surrounded and trespassed into their houses. After beating the inmates including womenfolk and children, they took away jewellry, 20 goats, and other valuables.
They said that Zahid and Aner and other feudal lords wanted to take possession of their land and wanted to get them vacated with ulterior motives with the help of SHO Mazhar.
They accused the respondents of once again attacking them on Dec 16, arresting six people and demanding money, and added that they were asked to leave their land or else they would be implicated in false cases and killed.
Thereafter, the petitioners said, the respondents warned that if any complaint was made they would have to face dire consequences.
They stated they approached the police officials concerned but they refused to register an FIR without seeking instructions from the DPO. So they went to the DPO but nothing happened. Then the villagers raised their voice before the press and the public.
The petitioners prayed the court to direct the police to register an FIR against the assailants in respect of the offences made out from the facts mentioned in the petition and the SHO and prevent the DSP from harassing the petitioners and their relatives.
