Sick sheep and black sheep

IT is surprising and alarming as to why the consignment of sick Australian sheep was allowed to land on the Port Qasim and shifted to a private farm house.

When the authorities concerned knew that the sheep are infected with a deadly virus for human consumption, they must have disallowed the import.

Or, they should have kept the sheep in transit and have arranged for the lab test of the sheep on board and must have sent the consignment back to Australia.

Secondly, the cost of disposing of the sheep must be recovered by the local partners of Wellard Rural Exports or the people involved in allowing the offloading of the whole consignment.

Eidul Azha is approaching fast. The whole scenario needs to be dealt with an sternly as there seems to be something fishy in the whole scandal.

Bad consignment

INSTEAD of culling and burying imported sheep in Karachi, they should have been sent back as ‘bad consignment’ at the cost of exporters.
