KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 15: Egypt’s rising star Raneem El Weleily outplayed world number one and home favourite Nicol David to win her first Malaysian Open title on Saturday.

The 23-year-old claimed the trophy with a 12-10, 11-13, 13-11, 11-2 win over a sluggish David.

Earlier, Egypt’s Tarek Momen claimed the biggest win of his career when he upset compatriot Mohamed El Shorbagy 12-10, 6-11, 12-10, 8-11, 14-12 in the Malaysian Open men’s final.—AFP
