Karachi violence claims seven lives

KARACHI: Various incidents of violence during the past twenty four hours claimed seven lives in Karachi, DawnNews reported on Friday.

One man was killed and six others injured in a grenade and firing attack at a roadside eatery in New Karachi area near Allahwali chowk.

Police sources said that the motive behind the attack seemed to be extortion related.

One person died of gunshot wounds near Meena Bazaar in Pir Colony area of the city.

One person was killed and another injured when unknown gunmen opened fire on them near Bait-ul-Mukarram mosque in Karachi’s Gulshan e Iqbal area.

Separate incidents of gun firing claimed another two lives in the city’s Khokhrapar and Ayub Goth areas.

Saddar Police claimed to have killed two suspected bike-snatchers after an encounter near Capri cinema in Saddar area.

The suspects were fleeing after snatching a motorcycle from the area, according to police sources who added that a stolen motorcycle and arms were recovered from the suspects.

A ten-day-old body was found in a nallah in Pak Colony area.
