LAHORE, Sept 11: Commissioner Jawad Rafique Malik on Tuesday directed the City District Government of Lahore to get criminal cases registered against those house owners who do not cooperate with the officials for elimination of dengue larva.
“If the officials concerned detect dengue larva for the second time in or around any house, they should immediately get a case registered against such house owner,” the commissioner said while presiding over a meeting held to review the anti-dengue drive at the office of Shalimar Town.
He said as the coming three to four weeks were very crucial, everyone would have to be vigilant.
Mr Malik sought a regular surveillance of all union councils in the city, directing the officials to leave no space unattended while detecting dengue larva.
Education Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, MNA Pervaiz Malik, CM’s adviser on health Khwaja Salman Rafique, Additional District Collector (General) Mussarat Jabeen and others also attended the meeting.
CASES: The CDGL and Town Municipal Administration while continuing raids at factories, tyre shops and workplaces got registered cases against over two dozen people.
A team led by Nishtar Town Administrator/ADC (G) Mussarat Jabeen got registered cases against managers of a home appliances company and a textile factory for violating the regulations.
Another team led by Administrator Nadia Saqib got registered a case against a cardiology hospital at Johar Town. Other TMAs led by their respective TMOs or administrators also got registered cases against factory or tyre shops’ owners.
The CDGL transport wing also paid surprise visits to various bus stands and inspected cleanliness and anti-dengue arrangements there. The secretary (District Road Transport Authority) got registered four FIRs against the managers of four bus stands due to poor arrangements ofcleanliness and accumulation of water on the premises of their bus stands.
The cases were registered against Muhammad Rehman (Niazi Bus Stand), Umair Abbasi (Skyways Travels), Malik Ijaz (Rahbar Travels) and Asghar (New Khan). The police also arrested them.
