LAHORE, Sept 10: The Pakistan People’s Party has decided to constitute a five-member committee in every zone of Punjab to give its recommendations to the party leadership regarding award of tickets in the coming general election.
The decision was taken at a PPP Punjab executives meeting here on Monday.
Presiding over the meeting, PPP Punjab President Imtiaz Safdar Warraich said the provincial leadership would constitute the five-member committee for the purpose.
He said it would be better if the PPP and its allies would contest the 2013 election on one symbol.
Warraich said the provincial chapter of the party and the youth wing would celebrate completion of President Zardari’s four years in office by holding seminars and rallies across the province.
He said the Punjab government was running away from holding the local body elections before the general ones.
He said the PPP would launch a campaign against the PML-N government if it did not hold the local elections as per direction of the Supreme Court.
