PESHAWAR, Sept 7: Central amir of Jamaat-i-Islami Munawar Hassan has reaffirmed the pledge that his party will never allow Nato supplies to Afghanistan as the United States-led forces were killing innocent Muslims, which cannot be tolerated.

He was addressing a rally and youth convention at Wazir Bagh here on Friday. He said US was losing the war in Afghanistan and now it could not win by branding different groups as terrorist.

He said that the rulers had bargained over the sovereignty of the country just for dollars and the provincial governments were equally responsible for the increasing problems in the country. He said that the rulers had focused on loot and plunder in the country and deprived the nation of its due rights and facilities.

Referring to the agreement on the issue of local government ordinance between Pakistan People’s Party and Muttahida Qaumi Movement, the JI amir said that it was just a drama aimed at postponing the general elections.

He warned that in case elections were delayed his party would bring the people on road across the country and its entire responsibility would rest with the government. He asked the government to step down and announce elections at the earliest.

Earlier, Munawar Hassan led a rally of party workers organised by Shabab-i-Milli. Starting from Al-Markaz-i-Islami it marched through various roads, Ring road, General Bus Stand, Lahorei Gate, Yakatoot, and Zargarabad, and culminated at Wazir Bagh.

Provincial amir Prof Mohammad Ibrahim Khan, provincial general Secretary Shabir Ahmed Khan, secretary information Israrullah Khan, Peshawar amir Bahrullah and Shabab-i-Milli Peshawar president Sherhzad Ahmed also spoke on the occasion.
