LAHORE, Dec 26: Tanzeem-i-Islami founder Dr Israr Ahmad has welcomed Iranian president Syed Muhammad Khatami’s clear stance on Kashmir.

He believed that if the Ummat adopted a joint stand on the issue, India would be forced to solve it at the earliest, says a press release.

He said Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan could form a strong Islamic bloc to counter the new world order.

He criticized the government for not allowing the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) to organize a reception for Mr Khatami. He said the reception could have paved way for Shia-Sunni brotherhood in the country.
