KARACHI: A Muttahida Quami Movement delegation and Sindh governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan met with Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to discuss the issue of Local Government System in the province, DawnNews reported.

The coalition partners discussed various issues regarding the Local Government System for Sindh as well as the law and order situation in the province during the meeting.

Delegates included Sardar Ahmed, Wasay Jaleel, Barrister Farogh Naseem, Sharjeel Memon, Ayaz Soomro and other important political leaders.

The meeting that lasted well after midnight was followed by a telephonic conversation to President Asif Ali Zardari. The governor and chief minister informed the president about the LG draft and updated him on the situation.

Earlier on, the two sides had failed to achieve an accord and the MQM had refused to hold further talks following a series of meetings with the PPP.
