ISLAMABAD: The Interior Ministry has authorised the Frontier Corps in Balochistan to carry out action against terrorist training camps, DawnNews reported.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik held a meeting today in Islamabad, in which the security situation in the country was discussed.

During the briefing, he said that the Tehrik-i-Taliban are involved in destabalising the security situation in Balochistan.

He said that intelligence reports suggest that there is now a close link between the TTP and Laskar-e-Jhangvi. Rehman Malik said that a militant from a blacklisted sectarian organisation is operating in Punjab. He said that the killing of innocent Shia is being carried out under the auspices of two terrorists from Harkat-al-Ansar.

When speaking about Balochistan, the interior minister said that officals in Sindh and Balochistan have been given orders to intensify security along the routes leading to and from Quetta.

He said that Mastung has become a hotspot for militants and terrorists.

The intelligence agencies have also identified some of the camps of militants around that area and accordingly FC is being directed to raid those camps without further delay.

The intelligence agencies also suggested that there is special conspiracy plan to kill Hazaras in maximum numbers to create unrest and chaos in Quetta and adjoining areas.
