I HAD the opportunity to offer Eid prayers at Faisal Mosque this year. Fortunately, I managed to reach just in time to find myself a place inside the main prayer hall which was packed to capacity, as expected.
The mosque’s architecture is very appealing with modern cuts and intelligent design techniques for natural light to come through the pyramid dome from various angles. What surprised me, however, was the sound system installed inside the mosque which served no purpose at all.
It sounded like a system from the bronze age which echoed just enough to muffle the speaker’s voice ruining the sacred experience.
Could someone from the relevant authorities, possibly the CDA or the ministry of religious affairs, look into this and fix the internal sound system at Faisal Mosque.

AS a citizen I am happy to read the news (Aug 30 about an initative taken by Mohsin Abbas in giving to Karachities a modern rickshaw which, besides TV entertainment, has also sliding windows to save passengers from smoke pollution.
