LAHORE, Sept 1: The PML-Q on Saturday submitted an adjournment motion to the Punjab Assembly seeking a probe into provincial government’s purchase of substandard anti-dengue chemical by a high court judge.
MPAs Amir Sultan Cheema, Chaudhry Abdullah Yousuf and Mehr Qamar Kathia said in the motion the chief minister’s special committee had recommended payment to the company that was providing substandard anti-dengue spray, showing the Punjab government’s apathy towards a serious issue risking people’s lives.
They said after a laboratory test the chemical had been declared substandard but the government seemed to stick to its plan to carry out its spray in 10 districts, including Lahore.
They demanded a Lahore High Court judge should be tasked to investigate the matter.
