KARACHI, Dec 24: Two-goal Mohammad Hussain powered Baloch Club to a convincing 5-0 victory over Memon Brothers in the qualifying round of the All-Pakistan Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto football tournament at Azad Stadium on Tuesday.
Baloch Club opened the account through Hussain in the 14th minute. Hussain completed his double in the 30th minute. Hapless Memon Brothers went further down when Mohammad Aslam found the target four minutes later.
The winners kept on dominating the play yet into the second half as Mohammad Yahya slammed home the fourth in the 50th minute, while Shahzad Ali completed the tally in the 64th minute.
Two second half strikes propelled Jalandar Sports to a 3-1 triumph over National Sporting at Himayati Stadium.
Jalandar Sports got off to flying start with a Fareed Khan goal in the 16th minute. National Sports put the game on an even keel in the 28th minute through Hyder Ali which proved consolation for his side.
Barely three minutes into the second session, Mazhar Ali pounced to score the second and Fareed pulled another in the 53rd minute.
Aided by Ashiq Ali’s first half double Baloch Youth outplayed Lal XI 4-0 at Jam Kanda Stadium.
Ashiq pumped in his first in the 8th minute and second in the 29th minute to make it 2-0 before halftime whistle.
Ghulam Farooq came into action in two minutes after resumption and Ghulam Sarwar finished off with a 68th-minute strike.
Abdul Rasheed rifled home twice to guide Usman Shaheed to a 2-0 win over Sindh Muslim at Allah Dad ground. Rasheed raided first in the 17th minute and then hammered in the 68th minute.
Sarhad Sports defeated Midway 2-0 thanks to second period strikes by Sheer Mohammad in the 61st and 69th minutes at Young Muzaffarabad Stadium.
Bilal Mujahid beat Peer Bukhsh 4-3 on penalty shootout at former’s ground.
