LAHORE: In a firing incident in the Pahrianwali area of the Mandi Bahauddin district, armed assailants killed three people, including a father and son, over a longstanding rivalry, DawnNews reported on Friday.

The incident took place between the Ghous group and the Sufi Ikram group over a murder feud within the limits of the Pahrianwali police station.

The father and son were on their way home with a gunman when members of the Sufi Ikram group ambushed them and opened fire, killing all three on the spot.

DPO Ameer Taimur Khan arrived at the scene with his team to investigate the incident.

The bodies were shifted to the District Hospital, Phalia for postmortem.

The police said the incident occurred due to enmity over earlier killings of one person from each group.

The DPO moreover formed special police teams and issued orders for immediate arrests of the accused.
