HYDERABAD, Aug 30: The Deputy Commissioner of Hyderabad, Agha Shahnawaz Babar, has declared anti-polio emergency after detection of virus in sewerage lines in Hyderabad.

He directed the officials and organisations to launch a campaign from September 10 to 12 and make it successful.

Presiding over a high-level meeting here on Thursday, he said the district health management took samples from Tulsidas pumping station of Hyderabad and found polio virus after tests. Its eradication needed extensive anti-polio vaccination campaign, he added.—Staff Correspondent
