LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday directed the Ministry of Religious Affairs that the Haj tour operators, who have paid their taxes, should be allotted their respective quotas, DawnNews reported.

The LHC was hearing the petitions filed by private tour operators.

The petitioners, Imran and Sohail, pleaded that despite the payment of taxes they were listed as defaulters and have not been granted the quota.

The petitioners appealed the High Court to provide them justice.

The LHC directed the Ministry of Religious affair’s Secretary to grant quotas to the tour operators who have paid the taxes and remove the names of the defaulters from the quota list.

Earlier, the court had directed the ministry to divide a quota of 3,000 Haj pilgrims amongst the 100 registered private Haj tour operators who pay timely taxes
