Assault bid foiled

UMERKOT, Aug 17: A man was caught and handed over to police following an attempted criminal assault on a 12-year-old girl in Ghulam Nabi Shah town on Friday.

The girl, daughter of a peasant, was going to fields when Asghar Umrani, a madarasah teacher, attempted to assault her criminally near the shrine of Khathr Wali.

Hearing her screams, people came to her rescue, thrashed Asghar and handed him over to police.
