QUETTA, Aug 17: National Party (NP) president Dr Malik Baloch said on Friday that dumping of bullet-riddled bodies and incidents of kidnapping for ransom and robbery indicated that the government had failed to curb lawlessness in Balochistan.
Speaking at a press conference, he said that doctors, engineers, lawyers, traders, journalists and political workers felt insecure because of growing lawlessness in the province.
He said the kidnapped people were freed after payment of ransom and if a hostage could not pay the amount he was killed, adding the government had left the people at the mercy of criminals.
The NP leader said that after the PPP came to power the people expected that the democratic government would solve the problems of lawlessness and unemployment and stop military action in Balochistan, but its policies had disappointed them.
