KP appoints new AG

PESHAWAR, Aug 16: The provincial government on Thursday appointed senior advocate Khalid Khan as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advocate General.

The post had fallen vacant after the incumbent Asadullah Khan Chamkani was recently appointed as additional judge of the high court.

A notification in this regard was issued by the law, parliamentary affairs and human rights department, stating that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor had appointed Mr Khalid Khan as the advocate general.

Mr Khalid Khan, hailing from Mardan district, assumed his office the same day. He has served as additional advocate general in 1993. He has also remained a prosecutor of the National Accountability Bureau and a standing counsel of the Supreme Court.
