New courts and relief to prisoners

ISLAMABAD, Aug 16: Islamabad High Court (IHC) administration has sent a summary to the Law Ministry for the establishment of special courts.

Registrar IHC, Niaz Muhammad Khan through a press release has intimated that the IHC Chief Justice, Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman has sent a summary for establishment of six special courts/tribunals in the federal capital, to the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs for approval of the prime minister.

The press release says that the newly constructed federal courts/tribunal complex at sector G-11 is ready for handing over to the concerned Ministry.

After the six special courts/tribunals would be notified by the government of Pakistan under the directions of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, IHC would appoint presiding officers of the said courts through the Ministry of Law.

Meanwhile, under the directions of the Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan, the IHC Chief Justice, Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman alongside two district and session judges (East & West) ICT, two judicial magistrates and one executive magistrate would visit central jail Adiala here on Friday for disposal of cases and relief to the prisoners confined in petty crimes.

The relief would be given to the prisoners in view of Eidul Fitr.
