Pakistan beat New Zealand to set up India clash

KARACHI: Pakistan set up a quarter-final meeting with India after beating New Zealand by five wickets in the ICC Under-19 cricket world cup on Thursday.

New Zealand chose to bat first after winning the toss and stuttered to a score of 152-8 in 50 overs with Henry Walsh scoring 33. Ehsan Ali, Zia-ul-Haq and Mohammad Nawaz, who was also the man of the match, took two wickets each.

Pakistan reached the target with ease in 31.2 overs with a loss of only five wickets. Captain Babr Azam did not last long but Imam-ul-Haq and Saad Ali scored 40 and 32 respectively.

Pakistan will now play India in the quarter final on Monday, August 20.
